Peru, officially the Republic of Peru, is a country in the western part of South America. It has been to the ancient civilizations which make present day Peru even more beautiful. It is also home to major scenic beauties like the Andes ranges and the wildlife. This nation is known for its travel locations which have become a travelers destination.
A few places worth mentioning are-
1- INCA PISAC
Spread out over the mountains, above the village of Pisac are several ruins of Inca, also known as Inca Pisac. These ruins include a military citadel, religious temples and individual dwellings which overlook the Sacred Valley. It is known that previously this area protected the southern entrance to the valley and controlled a route which connected this empire with the border of the rain forest.
2- PLAZA DE ARMAS, LIMA
This is where the city of Lima was born, known as the Plaza Mayor, it is the heart of the city, located in the historic district, with the streets radiating out in a grid. The location was selected by the Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro in 1535. Today it has plenty of cathedrals and palaces.
The Lord of Sipan, who used to reign around 100 AD, has been called the King Tut of the Americas because of the richness its tomb had. It has been considered one amongst the richest archaeological discoveries in the recent times. Sipan was a king of the Moche who ruled along Perus northern coast centuries before Incas. They were the best metallurgists of ancient times; their treasures can be seen in the Bruning Museum a few miles away
4- MANU NATIONAL PARK
This vast national park in the Amazon Basin is one of the best places in South America to see an amazing variety of tropical wildlife. With patience, wildlife is seen in most areas. During a one-week trip, visitors can reasonably expect to see many different bird species, several kinds of monkey and other mammals. The best time to visit Manu National Park is during the dry season, between June and November.
Located near Ica, Huacachina is a tiny oasis town surrounding a small natural lake and itself surrounded by many towering sand dunes. Once a playground for the Peruvian elite, these days Huacachina mostly attracts the international tourists. The big draw here is the opportunity to sand board and taking dune buggy rides on the sand dunes.
These are a few of the many breathtaking places from Peru.
