New Zealand also called the land of long white cloud is a small country which was founded in 1642 by a Dutch explorer Abel Tasman. It is an island country in the South Pacific Ocean. It is slightly larger than the UK with an area of 270,467 km.
The population is just 4.596 million that means only 5% of the population is human, the rest are animals! And guess what bats were the only native land mammals in the country. Yes there are other species now but they were introduced by the Maoris. The native people are called the Kiwi people. How surprising with such small population it is still rated third in Global Peace Index survey of 162 countries. It is ranked as No. 1 least corrupt country in the world. No part of the country is more than 79 miles from the sea.
People here speak English and Maori. Seems that they have a thirst for adventure. Bungee jumping was introduced here, the first one ever introduced was in Queenstown in 1988. It is no utter surprise as the country has vast landscape from the Southern Alps Mountains to the deep valleys. The Southern Alps are a mountain range on the western part
And we cannot forget the numerous sights of the country that we saw in movies such as , The Lord of the rings, the very famous Avatar , The piano , The chronicles of Narnia etc.
The New Zealand army is small yet fierce. The army has a unique culture imbibed from a range of influences that include the martial traditions of the British soldier and the Maori warrior.
It is amazing how such a small number of people influence the world in so many ways. From the beautiful breath-taking landscapes to the delicious food, the rich culture and language, this place has so much to bring to the world and oh they are very proud of their heritage.
Do we still need more reasons to fall in love with this extravagant larger than life place? There is only one word for New Zealand EPIC.
