It is happening again. I can feel it, I feel my heartbeats raising. I am tired, oh god! Nothing is right, I am trembling. I need to breathe, my mouth is dry, things are not right, why am I worrying so much? What is the reason? I become cold, but I am sweating. I want everything to stop. I do not wish to hear any sound, someone please hold me, no please go away! Dont touch me, dont talk to me, let me be alone. Someone help! I am drowning. It is a bad place to be. I hate everything, my back hurts, I can feel it, and I am not feeling right.
If all this is happening to you, your body is crying for help. This is anxiety.
Anxiety is an unpleasant state of inner turmoil. People with anxiety often suffer nervous behavior. No it is not the same as fear. Fear is a response to real situations, whereas anxiety is expectation of future threat. It can be short term state or long term trait.
How to deal with it?
Talk it out
First things first, know that you are not alone. Go to someone, talk to them about it. Tell them exactly how it feels. Someone who understands you, and does not judge you. Come-on we all have our dark days and they are temporary. Tough times pass but tough people last. You can also consult a doctor or a counselor.
Take deep breaths
While you feel your heart beats raising, just remember that its in the head, the fear the agony the pain. We can control our demons, we have the power. Sit down and take deep breaths. Remind yourself this too shall pass. Go take a walk, breath in some fresh air.
Listen to relaxing music
I know this may seem a little strange but believe me it helps. Listening to Soothing music calms our mind and then we get to handle the situations. You can listen to the Buddhist chant namm yo ho renghe kyo it has been proven very good for mental peace. It surely works.
Find an escape
No by that I do not mean ways to end the feeling, but ways to let it out so you feel lighter. I personally write everything that I feel, it serves as a good escape to me. When I write I can escape all the negative thoughts. Find one satisfying activity and do it.
At last I want you guys to know, it is perfectly fine to have these feelings. Accept it, work on it, and be happy. Make it productive and dont ever bow down to it. Remember if we do not learn how to control our demons they will control us.
