It was the 26th of June when Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone first came out back in 1997. Several more amazing books followed to inspire and fascinate millions. Here we are, a generation of Potterheads standing strong. We grew up waiting for our Hogwarts letters and learning all the spells of the Wizarding world just in case our magical abilities were revealed. Now that weve explored ever page of this wonderful series, heres a bunch of completely insane fan theories that just might make a whole load of sense.
-What if Ron and Dumbledore were the same people?
Thats right, a popular theory is that Dumbledore did some time travelling. They are both redheads, have large noses and a strong fondness for sweets. Remember how Professor Dumbledore always wished for a new pair of socks? It might link to his childhood as Ron Weasley. It would also explain the Headmasters extraordinary wisdom and knowledge of all things to happen. Far-fetched as it seems, it does make for some very deep thinking.
-Is the boy who lived immortal?
Harry might just have conquered death now that hes defeated the bane of the Wizarding community, the dark lord, *shudder* Lord Voldemort. The great prophecy declared that either must die at the hand of the other, for neither can live while the other survives. In the final duel, Harry did, in fact, defeat the Dark Lord thereby fulfilling the divination. But it could also be interpreted that they can only be killed at the hands of the other. With Voldemort vanquished Harry Potter can now never be killed.
-The Three Brothers
In the Tales of Beedle the Bard, the three brothers overcome Death who then offers them a gift. The oldest chooses power and gets the elder wand, the second gets the Resurrection Stone that revives loved ones from the dead and the youngest, being the most humble, wishes for death to not pursue him. He receives the Cloak of Invisibility. The brother who chose power could represent Lord Voldemort, Severus Snape is the second brother who wanted his loved one (Lilly Potter) back and the youngest who greeted death like an old friend could be Harry Potter. Death here is Albus Dumbledore who received Harry after he was hit by the killing curse.
-The Mungo Message
In The Order of the Phoenix, the trio takes a trip to St.Mungos Hospital. The different wards there are called:
Dai Llewellyn Ward
The first words of each of these might translate to Kreacher dangerous, Sirius dies. This is a pretty accurate prediction of what happens in the story. So was this a deliberate attempt by Rowling to warn readers?
-The Skeeter Conspiracy
Remember that annoying reporter for The Daily Prophet, Rita Skeeter? Well, fan theories suggest that she is J.K.Rowling posing as an author in the muggle world. As an unregistered animagus, she would have been found and exiled by the ministry at some point. So here she writes books documenting the world of magic as fictional so shes never really held to trial. Of course, both of them are blond and possess the skill of writing so why not?
Everybody hates the Dursleys for their outrageous treatment of Harry. But Harry Potter has always had a part of Voldemorts cursed soul within himself. Perhaps thats the reason his disgruntled guardians hated him so much. The presence of a Horcrux can distort anyones emotions as we saw happening with Ron as he abandoned his best friend.
Theres a whole bunch more where Draco Malfoys a werewolf, Professor McGonagall a death-eater and Sirius Black, a relative of Harry. True or otherwise, fan theories are proof to the wide-ranging popularity of the Harry Potter series since the time it was first released. The Potter fandom will never die.
