Everyone says desserts are supposed to be eaten at the end of the meals. But boy can we wait till the end. How can you make those delicious little things wait till you finish your entire meal!
That ice cold cream sitting in the freezer, that steamy flan cake, that hot chocolate oozing out of those profiteroles, the spongy rasgullas floating in the sugar syrup, the sizzling chocolate sauce poured over the combination of hot brownie and chilled ice cream dollop, that moist cake with the heavenly whiff, those cheesy bites of baked kunafah Id ditch the whole meal just for making enough space for the desserts. One little taste takes you into trance. The feeling of wanting more catches on and you cannot wait to take in the next bite. Some would talk of this indulgence is a sin, but believe me, this sin is worth committing. One cannot regret eating something that makes one experience absolute happiness. The sense of guilt that encroaches the minds of all those dieters is just momentary. Some extra minutes of exercise always comes to a rescue.
When you feel low, you just need to have those calories and poof...your sorrows fade a little.
When you are happy, you have them again and poof..your happiness doubles. Angry at something, have a piece of your favorite sweet, and you wont remember why you were angry at all. They are the cures for an anxiety attacks, at least for me. Catching up with your friends? Share the sweet stuff you all ordered. Jealous about someone doing better than you? Think of the dessert as that person and gobble up the entire thing in one go! Just kidding. You can chew the hell out of it too. No matter how the situation is, desserts are always going to support you. What better love story can exist, if not the desserts and I?
