Being a footballer and an avid follower of the English Premier League, Manchester had a lot to offer up its sleeves for me. I was always fascinated by the enormous stadiums and the craze behind it. When I had a chance to visit Manchester, I made it a point to visit the Etihad and Old Trafford Stadiums.Etihad is the home ground of the Manchester City Football Club. As I walked down the stadium passage, I was able to witness trophies, kits, medals and photos of the team up for display. Due to my keen interest in the clubs history, I took my time to absorb the achievements that were on display. The artificial turf and ever buzzing stands were the highlights of the visit. The next destination was the famous Old Trafford stadium. Old Trafford is home to another football team from Manchester - the Manchester United Football Club. Old Trafford is fairly older than Etihad and has a richer history. As a football lover, it was a breathtaking experience to have visited these places. This trip will go down as the best trip of my life. For those visiting Manchester and love a pinch of football, these stadiums are a prerequisite visit.
