Whoever invented football should be worshipped as God. Hugo Snchez Mrquez
Football is not just a sport but a way of life. The sport can be played by anyone and everyone, it is the only sport in the world that unites soo many people from different parts of the world; it shows spirit and passion in each supporter and players eyes when they walk onto the pitch. The feeling that people get from watching a match even if they are not in the stadium is just as exhilarating as it would be for the ones at the stadium. The chants that fans make for their clubs, the obsession that is created over the team and the rivalries that spur on for decades is incomparable in reference to other sports. The joy that one gets out of watching their team play and win is comparable to the disappointment they experience when their team loses.
The game itself is played by eleven players and each team has the choice to substitute three players in. Football helps people in many ways, it can help them relieve stress; work on their fitness and it helps people forget about things that bother them. I believe a football club is made up of its fans, I mean imagine a professional game being played in an empty stadium; its almost unthinkable. The FIFA World Cup is the most viewed live event in the world and there is an easy explanation for that, the intensity you get from the fans when a goal is scored is absolutely mind boggling as it shows the passion they possess for the team. Not only is the game incredibly fun to play but it is also inspirational, the game has seen players rise up from poverty to be some of the best in the world.
If you think football doesnt affect peoples lives; during the 2006 World Cup, Didier Drogba the captain of the Ivory Coast national team helped his team reach the quarterfinals, he then challenged the President of Ivory Coast Gbagbo to end the civil war. He made a desperate plea to the combatants, asking them to lay down their arms, a plea which was answered with a ceasefire after five years of civil war. This is the best example of uniting masses of different ideals due to one reason and thats football.
