It could very well be a different story if not for one particular group of heroes that strive day in and day out, all year long.
1. Care of a parent:
What would a child become if the parents did not have an abiding care and correct them when they went wrong? It is actually unfortunate that most of us fail to recognize the humongous responsibilities these guys carry between their 12 plus hour work shifts - In the wee hours, blazing noon or in the midnight blues. All the while putting up with the ordeals of our bustling city.
Is your job this demanding too? Hope not.
2. Patience of a Yogi:
Remember the time when you got caught for a traffic offense and argued, pleaded, negotiated and then got away somehow? Imagine being in the shoes of a cop who has to put up with the cribby offender, find a way to solve the case and then put some wisdom into their heads?
I was proxy to one female who was caught driving drunk beyond her wits and then actually threw many a tantrum starting her lines something like 'Do you even know who I am...?'
None of us like to be confronted for our doing our duties right in the middle of the night, do we?
3. Tech Savvy Like A Millennial:
The Facebook page of our dear cops, ' Bangalore City Police' is enough proof that these guys know the social media game better than most of us. They get the message straight to the society and in the meantime, don't fail to make you laugh. Apt puns make the page whackier than whacky.
Recently, an app. SURAKSHA was released to make women in the city safer. Also, about 50 new vehicles have been roaming around the city to assure road safety for women. They all are in the color pink.
One may point to a rare mishap and judge the whole unit as one or find a popular slang / perception and make fun. It is in the spirit of our wonderful democracy and in the light of our invaluable heritage and education that we need to start acknowledging the colossal service these heroes keep putting all day, every single day.
Can you imagine what could happen to the Silk Board Signal or what would happen after the night in the pub if there was no police to look for, just in case...Never mind, heroes always do the rescue act!
