Now a days we find very few historical and very precious forts

Among them “jaisalmer fort”is one which is in India and situated at jaisalmer city of rajasthan states.

The name derived from “rajput rawal”who built it in 1156AD and it is also known as the “sonar quala or golden fort” because the fort’s massive yellow sandstone walls are a tawny lion Color during the day fading to honey gold as the sun sets,there by camouflaging the fort in the yellow desert.

It is today located along the southern edge of the city, and it is the second oldest fort in rajasthan. It is believed that otnisnone of the very few “living forts”in the world, as nearly one fourth of the old city’s population still resides with on the fort.

It has a great 800 years history and it is mainly built to accommodate the growing population of jaisalmer.
